Linda Pirlot VanGinkel, 64, of Ishpeming, died Wed. July 18, 2012 at Marquette General Hospital. She was born on March 12, 1948 in Iron Mountain , the daughter of the late Elmer and Ethel (Asplund) Pirlot. Linda graduated from Kingsford High School in 1966. She married Earl VanGinkel on June 25, 1966. The couple moved to Colorado in 1985.
Linda moved back to Ishpeming, where she enjoyed working at the U.S. National Ski Hall of Fame and Museum. Linda loved to dance and danced with a group called the Pisquale's. She loved to sing and enjoyed singing Karaoke with her brother, Don. Linda was a member of the YMCA and was very involved in health and fitness.
Family was very important to Linda, and she was a wonderful mom and grandmother. She was especially thrilled to be a great grandmother. Linda enjoyed life to its fullest. She found peace in watching and listening to the waves at the lower harbor in Marquette and on the ocean. She also enjoyed living in the mountains of Colorado.
She is survived by her son Wade (Rea Richards) VanGinkel of Glenwood Springs, CO, two grandchildren Nicole VanGinkel of Glenwood Springs, CO, and Keenan VanGinkel of Glenwood Springs, CO, one great grandson Colter VanGinkel, two brothers Harlan (Joyce) Pirlot of Appleton, and Don (Virgie) Pirlot of Niagara, her husband EarlVanGinkel of Grand Junction, CO, and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves many friends, including Jeanette Steckel, Richard Cox, Jeanne Bouland, Jenny Numikoski, and Dawn Hoffman.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother Dale Pirlot and her step father James "Honey" Marlett.
Visitation will be Mon. from 11am-12 noon at Kingsford Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 12 noon Monday at the funeral home. Rev. Andrew Filizetti will officiate. Burial will be in Quinnesec Cemetery.

The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Kingsford Funeral Home with the arrangements.
