LAKELAND - Elease "Tina" Mckinney, 72, of Lakeland, Florida, entered into eternal rest on February 13, 2013, due to congestive heart failure.
She was born March 28, 1940. She was an educator for many years with the Polk County School Board until she retired. She received her Master's Degree in Elementary Education at Nova University and a Master's Degree in Emotional Handicapped at University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. She was a servant of God, a dedicated member and leader of Greater Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Mulberry, Florida. She was much loved, faithful and appreciated. She loved the Lord and always offered encouragement from the word of God.
She was preceded in death by her mother Esie Stancil, father Shelton Tillman, stepfather Willie Stancil, husband Gillis Mckinney, and her daughter Sherry Taylor. She is survived by three daughters Rita Berrien, St. Clair, Sunseria Smith (Buffy), Gwenevere Gentry (Fred), son-in-law James Taylor, 10 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, and a host of loved family members.
Visitation will be held at Coney Funeral Home, 1404 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave., in Lakeland, FL, on Friday, February 22nd from 7:30 - 9:00 PM. A Celebration of Life will be held at Greater Faith Missionary Baptist Church, 500 N.E. 1st Ave., Mulberry, FL, on Saturday, February 23rd at 2:00 PM.
